I’m Alicia Robertson, a woman who knows exactly how devastating it is to hear the words ‘I want a divorce’ – especially when you aren’t expecting them.

It felt like the rug had been ripped out from under me and I was completely lost as to how to navigate the gauntlet of emotions, uncertainty and decisions I was facing.

I made it through – with grit and grace and my head held high – and found a way to turn the load of lemons that was dumped on my lap into some pretty awesome lemonade. And you, my friend, can do that too.

I know how hard this is. The feelings of shame, failure, fear and anger are real and scary and all-consuming. I believe wholeheartedly in feeling and processing them (therapy was a life saver in the weeks and months following my separation - and still is).

But I also know firsthand that the only way to get through this is to honour yourself, rise above what has happened to you, take control and figure this s#*it out one very deliberate decision at a time so that you can start charting a path forward – which is exactly what I’m here to help you do through Lemonade Life.

Regardless of your circumstances or where you are in your journey, you will find support, solidarity and inspiration here. In addition to one-on-one coaching and speaking, I offer a comprehensive online course to guide you through the divorce process and all the milestones that are ahead. I also offer up a ton of guidance and inspiration completely for free through my blog and weekly squeeze emails, which you can sign up for here.

My Story

I’ve always been interested in coaching and how the brain works so, when my career went up in smoke alongside my marriage (I worked with my husband in a successful real estate business), I decided to change course completely and pursue life coaching.

I became certified (through the Centre of Applied Neuroscience) and developed a specialization in mindfulness and positive psychology – both of which I love, believe in and rely on heavily in my approach (and my own life).

Though I’m passionate about coaching others towards a new and better life, it became clear that my purpose was both bigger and more specific than that. So I decided to heed that call and dedicate Lemonade Life to supporting women navigating divorce, on a much larger scale.

My mission is to change the narrative around divorce and provide the support and guidance I was so desperate for in the weeks and months following my own separation – with the ultimate goal of helping as many women as I possibly can come out on the other side feeling hopeful, inspired and positive.

Though some of my darkest moments it was also a deeply transformative time that has re-connected me with my most authentic self and has set the stage for my next chapter in life.

My lemonade!

So many things make up the awesome lemonade that is my life: Tacos and margs, hearty belly laughs, girlfriend getaways, adventures with my babes, Friday make your own pizza party, movies and forts, cottage sunsets, beach hair (don’t care!), shopping, naps and snuggles, fun times and being boldly curious – to name a small handful.

Got lemons? Let’s make some lemonade.

Through one-on-one coaching, I help recently separated women process what’s happened to them (without dwelling on it) and rise above their circumstances so they can move forward to create a new life with clarity, confidence and excitement.

I specialize in working with women navigating divorce, my approach – which is forward-thinking, action-oriented and leverages elements of positive psychology and mindfulness.

I take on a small number of coaching clients at a time. Different package options are available depending on where you are on your journey and how much support you need. Please reach out if you’re interested in working with me or knowing more.

My mind was a chaotic, directionless swirl of ideas, concepts, hopes, desires, dreams, and intentions. What I love about Alicia is that she took the time to get to know me and helped me sort out what was important to me and helped me clarify my goals and directions. My mind is no longer a swirling mass of chaos. I am more productive, relaxed, and in control. I highly recommended Alicia’s services to anyone who needs a little (or big) nudge in the right direction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: At what ‘stage’ of the divorce journey should I hire you?

A: Because the divorce ‘experience’ varies so much from woman to woman, there’s no right time to pursue coaching. The key is that you have to be ready – or at least open to – looking forward instead of back.

Q: Can you help me navigate the logistics of my divorce?

A: Absolutely! Coaching is primarily focused on mindset and charting your path forward – but I have an online course and am working on a book designed to guide you through what I call ‘the business of divorce’.

If that’s what you’re looking for, please sign up for my weekly squeeze emails to be the first to know when it’s ready (and receive a weekly dose of inspiration and guidance from yours truly).

Q: Do you work exclusively with women?

A: Yes; in all that I do I am focused exclusively on supporting women – and that’s because this is about SO MUCH more than tools and techniques. It’s about a sisterhood. And a shared experience. And being supported during your most vulnerable time by someone who’s walked the same path as you, in a confidential sacred space.

Q: Is coaching in person or virtual?

A: Unless you happen to be in the Guelph, Ontario area and prefer to meet in person, coaching is done virtually (via Zoom on phone).

Q: Do you offer consultations?

A: Yes. If I have availability and believe I can help you based on the information you provide via email, I’ll offer you a complimentary consultation (via Zoom) where we can talk about how I can best support you and answer any questions you have.
